"summary": "17-4 PH is a martensitic, precipitation-hardening stainless steel with about 15 to 17.5 percent chromium, 3 to 5 percent nickel and 3 to 5 percent copper (Carpenter). It is supplied annealed and then aged in one step at about 480 to 620 C (900 to 1150 F). The aging temperature sets the strength: H900 is the strongest and hardest condition, and H1150 is softer and tougher. In most media its corrosion resistance is close to Type 304, but peak-aged material is more prone to stress corrosion cracking, so the aging condition has to be chosen for the environment as well as the load.\n",
