"summary": "Free-cutting brass C36000 (UNS C36000, CuZn36Pb3) is a copper-zinc alloy with 2.5 to 3.0 % lead, made for high-speed screw-machine work. Its machinability is rated 100 on the supplier scale. Its density is 8.5 g/cm3, its electrical conductivity is 26 %IACS and its thermal conductivity is 116 W/(m·K) at 20 °C. Strength depends on temper: round rod has a minimum tensile strength of 330 MPa annealed (O60), 390 MPa half hard (H02) and 480 MPa hard (H04), and its elongation falls from 15 % to 4 % across those tempers. The alloy dezincifies in water and can crack under tensile stress in ammonia, and its lead content keeps it out of California's lead-free plumbing brass (limit 0.25 % lead). For the pure metal see the [copper profile](/profiles/copper/).\n",
