"summary": "Aluminosilicate glass is a silica network with alumina and alkali or alkaline-earth oxides added. Corning's EAGLE XG, an alkaline-earth boro-aluminosilicate, has a density of 2.38 g/cc, a strain point of 669 C and a working point of 1293 C (Corning MIE 301, 2006). Corning's Gorilla Glass 2, an alkali aluminosilicate, has a compressive stress capability of 1000 MPa at a 40 um depth of layer after chemical strengthening (Corning product sheet, 2012). Chemical strengthening swaps sodium ions in the surface for potassium ions from a hot salt bath. NASA tested Corning Code 1723 aluminosilicate window glass for Apollo and found no refractive-index change at the third decimal after 30 days of space-equivalent irradiation (NASA, 1968).\n",
